The Northampton Retail Crime Initiative (NRCI) was established in 2001 to fight retail crime.
It is a non profit making organisation and is fully supported by Northamptonshire Police.
It has over 150 members ranging from the biggest National retailers to smaller independent local traders. Members are located throughout Northampton including the Town Centre, Kingsthorpe, Sixfields, Riverside, St. James and Weston Favell shopping areas.
The NRCI's ethos is to Prevent, Disrupt and Deter those intent on committing retail / business crime.
We have recently teamed up with the Town Centre Business Improvement District (BID) to employ two Rangers to fulfil our aims in make Northampton a safer environment for both shoppers and staff.
Role Purpose: To support and assist the NRCI Board and to fulfil the aims of the initiative. To ensure there is a visible presence on the streets of Northampton, offering frontline support to our retail partners, shoppers and visitors.
Actively liaise and build positive relationships with all NRCI and BID Members, as part of our commitment to businesses (75% of the role).
Actively promote the NRCI by seeking new members and sponsors.
Maintain and implement the exclusion orders and Anti Social Behaviour Order system.
Liaise with all agencies that impact on the role of the NRCI, (CCTV, Police & BID), to gather intelligence and maintain effective relationships.
Communicate with members via regular newsletters and monthly meetings.
The role is a uniformed, high visibility role, so you must be physically fit and able to be on your feet at least 75% of your working week.
This is a public facing role, customer service standards and good communication skills are of key importance.
Criteria:
Full UK Driving Licence.
Have a SIA Licence or willing to obtain one.
First Aid certificate or willing to obtain one.
IT Literate.
Good Communication Skills.
